Latus Studio is a Columbus, Ohio based architecture and design studio focusing on enhancing the social, environmental, and equitable well being of the community through engagement, thought, design, and partnership. We bring a passion for creating innovative environments and believe this is best achieved when a team of invested individuals come together to achieve and surpass their goals.
Why “LATUS” ?
The term “latus” is an acronym originally created using family initials, urban experiences, and sustainable values. Latus (aka lattice) as a general term evokes a support structure installed to support growth to a climbing plant. This idea of supporting the community surrounding each project helps drive the mission of Latus Studio for each and every project we are a part of.
OUR TEAM
Seth R Trance, AIA, LEED AP
Seth is a licensed architect in Ohio with 21 years of experience on a range of project types, including park design, STEM & sports facilities, performing arts, K-12, higher education, healthcare, and residential design. He brings strong design and communication skills to a team environment, along with extensive experience in all project phases.
His personal design focus is on the user experience as the ultimate goal and defining factor of work. He enjoys the collaborative process of architecture, where solutions grow out of interaction and exchange.
Seth strongly believes in the principles of sustainable design and it’s social, economic, and environmental benefits in the built environment. He is an active member of AIA Columbus (Committee on the Environment member) and USGBC Ohio (MLAB member).
